Journey Home Young Adult helps young women ages 18-23 in need of additional guidance after graduation from a residential treatment program. Clients work towards building independent living skills in order to transition successfully into adulthood.

A typical client in the Journey Home Young Adult program is a young woman who has seen growth in self-confidence, emotional maturity, and self-motivation. Our clients have specific goals that they wish to reach during their time at our program. These goals can range from academics to career goals. They are focused on improving emotional, physical and relational health.

How does our failure to launch program for Ohio young women help?

Although Journey Home Young Adult is a failure to launch program located in Salt Lake City, Utah, we have helped girls from all over the country. After successfully completing a treatment program, this program helps young women ages 18-23 take their next step. Journey Home Young Adult helps students continue to receive clinical support from our multidisciplinary team and establish a healthy lifestyle in a supportive living environment.

The city offers a variety of resources our students might need: colleges and universities, career and volunteer opportunities, social and cultural events, and beautiful mountains and National Parks–all easily accessible from our home like setting. Group outings for adventure and cultural activities are built into our weekly schedule so our students can experience everything Salt Lake City has to offer.

Ohio Young Women Transitioning into Adulthood at Failure to Launch Programs

The transition to young adulthood is a transformation to be celebrated, not feared, at Journey Home Young Adult! Young adulthood poses many challenges for Ohio young women in the middle of the transition, which is why we have cultivated a supportive and intentional community to encourage them. Young women who have previously been in treatment are in unique situations during this transition. Compared to other young adults, they know that they may need more support and structure during this time. After embarking on a journey of self-discovery, these women want to continue to be in a community that understands and respects their progress. Journey Home Young adult was created for women transitioning into young adulthood and struggling with emotional, behavioral, or mental health disorders.

By working with young women ages 18-23, we can focus on the specific needs of this population in terms of failure to launch issues. We focus on personal responsibility, healthy relationships, life skills, and college integration in order to create a balanced and well-rounded program for the Ohio young women we work with. Young women practice self-care, time management, budgeting and overall personal responsibility at Journey Home Young Adult. They practice open and honest communication daily.
