Who do Independent Living Programs for Ohio Young Adults help?
Independent living programs support young adults from Ohio over the age of 18 who are struggling with a variety of issues, problems and behaviors. The goal of these programs is to empower young adults to achieve independence and success by offering them skills, education, and experience that better prepare them for it. With so many options for transitional or independent living programs, it is important to find the appropriate fit. When programs in Ohio don’t seem like the appropriate fit, there are other options. Many young adults find it more beneficial to go to a new place to experience success, as new environments help them improve their self-efficacy and increase their self-esteem. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Journey Home Young Adult is an independent living program for young women.
who we help
Journey Home Young Adult works with teens ages 18-23 who are in need of extra support after transitioning out of a residential treatment program. Our clients are seeking a nurturing environment in which they can build and grow independent living skills that will help them launch into a successful adulthood.
Clients at Journey Home Young Adult are teens who have started their journey towards gaining self efficacy, emotional development, and self confidence. At Journey Home Young Adult, clients create self set goals in areas like vocational/career choices, relationship skills, and academics. The teens we help are hoping to build and make positive strides in their emotional, mental, and physical health.

Why Choose Journey Home Young Adult?
As a leading independent living program for young adults, Journey Home Young Adult is located in Utah and works with teens from Ohio and across the country to find support and healing during the transition into adulthood. With our small, intimate program we can create a personalized course of treatment for each young person to find future success. We give students more autonomy in defining personal goals and future success, as we recognize that it depends on the context of the situation and their cultural background.
Our independent living program can be personalized to meet the individual needs of our students, as we have a small student body of 10-11 young women. As we consider each student’s individual needs in our small program, we empower them to pursue their individual interests. Our students have the flexibility to make choices and decisions for themselves as young adults. The size of our program allows for this flexibility with day-to-day decisions.
Although we may be a small program, we offer a variety of opportunities for young adults from Ohio. Our staff gives students individualized attention and support and stays by their side every step of the way, starting on day one. From small, in the moment mentoring to big, sometimes difficult decisions, we are there to help. It means we are able to develop meaningful relationships with every student, and we can truly understand what their future goals are.
