Why Choose Journey Home Young Adult?

During the transition into adulthood, young women from South Dakota and across the country find support and healing at the leading independent living program for young adults, Journey Home Young adult. With our small, intimate program we can create a personalized course of treatment for each young woman to find future success. We give students more autonomy in defining personal goals and future success, as we recognize that it depends on the context of the situation and their cultural background.

The small size of our program, including 10-11 young women, allows us to tailor our independent living program to meet the exact needs of each of our students. Our students each have a diverse array of interests – we want them to all be empowered to pursue their own dreams, and with a small program like ours, they have the ability to do just that! As young adults, our students deserve to have the flexibility to make choices and decisions for themselves. Our program is designed to allow for this flexibility with day-to-day decisions.

Our small program size gives young adults from South Dakota the chance to explore a variety of greater opportunities. Our staff gives students individualized attention and support and stays by their side every step of the way, starting on day one. We are here to help as mentors in exploring your interests and in making difficult decisions. It means we are able to develop meaningful relationships with every student, and we can truly understand what their future goals are.
